The first time we ever visited Haraki we booked a boat trip through the local travel office in the square
It was to a small silver sanded island, quite delightful
We are hoping to come again after a three year break ue to ill health, and would love to visit this tiny, think uninhabited island again. Can anyone help with what it is called and where it is
I think we had about an hour on the boat. The island provided a lovely walk right across the island
I have Googled to no avail!!!
One other thing. If we do manage next year what is the best way of getting to Rhodes, we live bear Bristol. Are we stuck with Birmingham. Are there any tour operators other than Olympic or will we have to book direct? I want to avoid night flights
Cheers
Susie

can't help on the island whereabouts but can recommend flights from Liverpool to Rhodes (Easyjet or Ryanair). Bristol or Cardiff flights tend to be expensive.
We live in west wales and travel up thro mid Wales but for you from Bristol is probably best to go on M5 North.
Airport is south of the city just a couple of miles over Runcorn bridge so don't go thro the city. Olympic are the only package company using Haraki and they use Easyjet from Bristol. BUT why not book independent.
See previous posts about when to book easyjet/Ryanair flights i.e. early when flight times 1st published.
Hope this helps.
Doug.

Thanks for the info but it looks like the expensive option for us. The journey to Liverpool airport is too long a journey with my problems, followed by the flight. To be honest Gatwick is an easier journey than Liverpool and that is too far these days
I will have a look to see what the options are from Bristol or possibly Birmingham
I hope someone remembers my island though LOL

I can't help with the island either but wish I knew where it was, sounds idyllic and we're always looking for a day out with a difference. We too travel from Liverpool now. It's 150 miles from home but still worthwhile although the flight times are not as good as they were. Since Excel packed in a few years ago the flights from the middle of the country have pretty much dried up unless you pay big bucks. For the last couple of years Ryanair have run flights from Bournemouth during the main season. Also EasyJet from Gatwick have prices comparable to those from Liverpool. There's also Jet2 from Manchester. If you want package then it's just Olympic although a couple of accommodation providers are offering free airport transfers but you still need to sort out your own flights. Please post back if you remember the island Bob.

Hi Bob, Jet2 from Manchester have nicer flight times (In my opinion.) Departs Manchester 09:00 lands 15:20 Departs Rhodes 16:20 lands 18:50 but I do not know how the price compares with EasyJet as we were looking for flights next October and EasyJet only list until September 2014. Susie, Did the boat trip you went on depart from Haraki or some other location on Rhodes. This location may help to identify the island.

'Silver sanded and possibly uninhibited' . . . can't be Halki.
