Halki is a small island close to Rhodes. We've been for a couple of day trips, once probably three years ago and again earlier this month. It's a very pretty island. There's not an awful lot to see and do but there are two or three nice beaches, a nice harbour with tavernas, a pleasant little town (just the one) and very few cars. Some spectacularly beautiful scenery and water as clear as can be. It can be reached for a day trip from Rhodes Town (Dodekanesos Ferries) or from Kamiros Scala on the west side of Rhodes. The latter is the shorter trip - just 40 minutes, and the nicer ferry (the Fedon) although both ferries are pretty good. The Fedon is 10 euros per person in each direction so 40 for the round trip for both of us. There is a very friendly forum with a similar bunch of devotees to those of us who love Haraki. The forum is here: www.halkivisiting.proboards.com/The forum is a good read and the island is a lovely day out from Rhodes. Bob.
